Song to the Siren dish

Song to the Siren is an earthenware dish with the first couple of lines of the lyrics of the song by Tim Buckley but I prefer the version by This Mortal Coil. The lyrics are around the rim along with a checked pattern. In the centre is a mermaid with an extra long, powerful tail, she is holding a green boat with an awning which is like one that I saw on the Thames. She wears a watch and a decorated bodice and a crown with a clam shell.

The dish measures approximately 24cm diameter and 3cm deep. Suitable for food use but fairly delicate, so hand wash only. It is handmade from earthenware clay and hand painted with underglazes.
