She is Illuminated is a wall plaque, or 'shrine' . Lucia carries a candle and her hair is full of floating candles. She stands in a thickly wooded forest and her feet are rooted to the earth. She wears an apron with spare candles in the pocket and her bird companion perches on her arm. She stands in the centre of a decorated, gothic-shaped archway. Three leaves hang from the shelf.
It measures 23.5 cm x 13.5cm x 4cm and is ready to hang on a hook on a wall.
This piece is handmade and hand painted, over many hours, from earthenware clay.
