Estella's Almanac (Sol clarissima stella)

This wall plaque features Estella, she carries a banner reading, : 'Sol clarissima stella' or, 'the sun is the brightest star.' She is floating in a blue sky carrying her bird companion. Her dress features ripe ears of wheat and leaves and a magnificent head dress, she is surrounded by the months in roman numerals, all the edges are patterned. Three droplets hang from the bottom edge featuring ripe ears of wheat and the face of the sun. There is a secure hanger on the back. This piece is approximately 19.5cm x 7.5 cm incuding the hanging droplets. This piece was made out of clay, fired, painted over many hours with underglazes, glazed and refired. As such, this is a unique piece, there is only one Estella.
