Deirdre and the Cormorant is a miniature in the style of a medieval manuscript. Deirdre has dark wings; she wears a medieval style of dress and diamond pattered crown. She is listening to her advisor, the cormorant who is perched on her hand. The background is checkered in a soft red and white. There is a border of tiny back and white squares and willow leaves. There is the plant Queen Anne's Lace by her feet and on the tiny shelf.
It measures 15cm x just over 7.5cm x just over 4cm. It is made to change on the wall, it has a secure hanger on the back.
This piece is entirely handmade and hand painted, it is a one off.
