Cap o' Rushes is based on the folk tale of the same name. She has a hat and cape of woven rushes, some of the leaves are still attached. In my version she has two birds who lead her to the secret place in the rushes where she will get a new dress for the ball. She wears an apron with salt , a key part of the plot, and a spoon to make gruel for the squire's son. She wears a ring around her neck to prove her identity. It's a very good story.
Her dress has a patterned bodice and is decorated with bindweed. She carries a decorated heart on a crocheted, painted linen cord.

Cap 'o' Rushes measures approximately 25cm from hat to the heart and 15.5 cm across. She is a one off made from earthenware clay and painted with underglazes. She has a secure hanger on the back and is ready to be hung on a picture hook on the wall.
